Farmer attempts suicide on court premises

Kaduru, NT Bureau: Mallikarjuna, a farmer from Karehalli village in Kadur taluk, attempted to end his life by consuming poison at the Kadur Civil Court premises on Saturday.

This desperate act was reportedly triggered by the court's unfavourable verdict regarding a land dispute in which Mallikarjuna was involved. The land dispute had been under litigation in the Kadur Civil Court for some time.

Despite filing an appeal against the initial ruling, Mallikarjuna faced another setback when the court upheld its decision against him. Feeling deeply aggrieved by what he perceived as an unjust ruling, Mallikarjuna resorted to drastic measures by consuming poison at the court premises.

He was immediately taken to the Taluk Hospital for initial treatment and later transferred to Hassan Hospital for further care. Fortunately, Mallikarjuna's life was saved, averting the imminent danger posed by the ingestion of poison.
