Telugu actress Hema deposed before her interrogators wearing a burqa reportedly in order to hide her

Six including Telugu actress arrested in rave party case

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: Bengaluru police who are probing the rave party case in the city, arrested Telugu actress Hema along with others after she appeared before the police for questioning on Monday.

This comes after 86 attendees, including the actress, who allegedly attended the party, tested positive for drugs. The attendees were issued a notice by Bengaluru Police and were asked to appear before the Anti-Narcotics wing of the Central Crime Branch (CCB).

Sources said that Hema did not give convincing answers to the allegations against her during interrogation. A senior police official claimed that she tried to mislead the police by making a video saying that she had not consumed drugs.

Based on credible inputs, the CCB had conducted a raid at the GM Farmhouse in the Singena Agrahara area near Electronics City during the early hours of Sunday, May 20.

During a search at the venue, the police confiscated various items including 14.40 grams of MDMA pills, 1.16 grams of MDMA crystals, six grams of hydro cannabis, five grams of cocaine, a Rs 500 denomination note coated with cocaine, six grams of hydro ganja, five mobile phones, two vehicles — a Volkswagen and a Land Rover — and DJ equipment, comprising sound and lighting systems valued at Rs 1.5 crore.

Police sources suggested that influential figures in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh were allegedly attempting to shield the Telugu actress.

Accused who supplied drugs to rave party, arrested

The CCB also sleuths arrested a person from DJ Halli Police Station limits, who had allegedly supplied drugs to the venue in Electronics City limits. The accused was identified as Sharif, who had allegedly supplied the drugs to the party organisers.

During a search at his room, the police found 40 MDMA pills and seized them. As per sources, the police had issued notice to Sharif earlier as it was said he was among those who attended the party.

Actress sent to 12 days' custody

Following interrogation at the CCB office in Chamarajpet, the Telugu actress was presented before the 4th Additional Civil and JMFC court in Anekal following which the Judge Salma AS sent the actress to judicial custody until June 14.
