MLC Vishwanath asks 28 MPs to raise their voices for state in unison

Mysuru, NT Bureau: Former minister and BJP MLC H Vishwanath on Wednesday urged all 28 new Karnataka MPs to air problems of the state besides working together across party lines to find solutions to people’s issues.

Speaking to reporters, he said that people have elected three former chief ministers including H D Kumaraswamy from Mandya, Basavaraj Bommai from Haveri, Jagadish Shettar from Belagavi and the sons and daughters of ministers of the Congress government.

The MPs from other states even if they belong to different parties, raise their voices together in parliament whenever injustice is meted out to their state but such unity is lacking among Karnataka MPs in recent years, he said.

He thanked voters of Mysuru- Kodagu parliamentary constituency for electing Yaduveer Krishnadutta Chamaraja Wadiyar based on the contributions of erstwhile rulers of Mysuru kingdom in various fields including health, irrigation, education and agriculture.

The veteran leader felt the electorate had taught a lesson to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for reportedly 'insulting' great leaders like Mahatma Gandhi in his speeches during the election.

He asked new MP Yaduveer Wadiyar to strive hard for promotion of tourism and the world famous Naada Habba Dasara celebrations saying tourism has collapsed in Mysuru in recent years.
