Rain woes continue in city, water floods homes
Bengaluru, NT Bureau:The city on Thursday continues to struggle to cope with heavy rains which inundated roads and uprooted trees.
Bengaluru has been experiencing incessant rainfall since the beginning of June, with the intensity escalating with each passing day. According to reports, water entered homes in Doddaballapura and Devanahalli.
The work undertaken by Karnataka Road Development Corporation (KRDCL) exacerbated the situation with the poor drainage system leaving houses inundated. Low-lying areas struggled with heavy rainfall, as flooding washed away groceries, books and bags in homes.
Commuting for motorists has become a struggle with the waterlogged roads posing a grave risk to them.
The Traffic Police (BTP) reported waterlogging on Hebbal flyover, which is notorious for snail-paced traffic. Developmental works undertaken by BDA and Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) have made the flyover all the more difficult to commute.
