Anju Bobby George, Senior Vice President, Athletics Federation of India delivers the keynote address

Years of hard work, focus must to pursue sport as career, says Anju Bobby George

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: Senior Vice President of the Athletics Federation of India (AFI), Anju Bobby George, underscored the importance of self-improvement and absolute dedication in pursuing a career in sport.

“Firstly, you need to identify whether you are good and talented enough at sports; and if you’re good, it’s still not an easy task—you have years of hard work to look ahead to. You’ll have to lose out on fun. But focus on yourself, work hard, and time will help you achieve your goal,” she told the gathering.

Her comments came at a summit organized by Happiest Health, a wellness magazine, on Saturday.

“Sports Nutrition has broadened a lot these days. In our times, we eat what we have, but today, you have people specifically working to ensure you have the right food intake,” she said, adding that rest and self-belief are crucial, said the 2003 Worlds Bronze Medallist.

With a focus on a healthy lifestyle, the MOVE (Move, Own, Vitalise & Empower) summit featured a competition of around 100 people from various walks of life.

The day’s program revolved around healthy lifestyle management, helping attendees understand the value of diverse fitness approaches in today’s evolving landscape.

The summit featured speakers, athletes, and fitness celebrities and showcased globally renowned fitness brands, speaking about fitness, nutrition, and injuries in sports.
