Solving monsoon woes top priority: BBMP new admin

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: The new administrator of the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike, S. R. Umashankar, who took charge on Wednesday, has said that addressing the city's monsoon woes is his top priority.

"The city has been pounded by heavy rains, and it is important to address key issues like waterlogging and tree falls. Historical reasons have been referred to, and it is important that officials from all departments and other civic authorities work together for the citizens," Umashankar stated to reporters.

Umashankar, who also holds concurrent charge as the additional chief secretary to the home department of the state government, is the 29th administrator of the Palike. He succeeds Rakesh Singh, who retired from this post on May 31.
