Lokayukta asks officials to increase surprise visits to government offices
Mysuru, NT Bureau: Karnataka Lokayukta Justice B S Patil on Saturday directed officials for the speedy disposal of pending cases, besides redressing grievances of the public on top priority in all departments of the government.
In his ‘Officials review’ meeting held at Jaladarshini Guest House in the city, he asked the Lokayukta police to regularly conduct surprise visits to government offices to inspect the smooth functioning of public-related works.
“They must visit offices of sub-registrars, tahsildars, the taluk Panchayat, revenue, ADLR, city Corporation, and other local body offices frequented by the people,” he said.
He also directed them to receive complaints from the public by visiting such offices, besides ensuring their work is done. “They can pull up an official who does not do this properly.” The justice also asked them to increase such visits to Agriculture department offices.
