Masked robbers assault, rob PWD contractor in M'luru farmhouse

Bengaluru/Mangaluru, NT Bureau: A group of nine miscreants broke into and burgled the farmhouse of PWD contractor Padmanabha Kotian in Ulaibettu, on the outskirts of Mangaluru city, after assaulting Kotian and his family members on Friday, June 21.

According to Mangaluru City Police Commissioner Anupam Agrawal, the masked robbers entered the farmhouse and, while threatening Kotian with a knife, demanded money.

After tying up Kotian and his family with bedsheets, the robbers ransacked the house, injuring Kotian’s hand in the scuffle.

The burglars stole money and jewellery from the farmhouse and also took Kotian’s vehicle, which was parked in the front yard. However, they abandoned the vehicle a short distance away before fleeing the scene, added the commissioner. A case has been registered.
