Man attempts to rape woman, stabs her for resisting

Bengaluru/ Davangere, NT Bureau: Residents of Gollarahatti in Chikkammanahatti village, Jagalur taluk, in Davangere, apprehended a 30-year-old man who attempted to rape a married woman and stabbed her when she resisted.

The accused, Katappa, reportedly forced his way into the woman's house and attempted to assault her. When she resisted and shouted for help, Katappa stabbed her multiple times, including in the neck, to silence her.

Despite his efforts, the woman's screams alerted nearby villagers, who rushed to her aid, caught Katappa and handed him over to the police.

The injured woman is currently receiving treatment at a hospital. Jagalur police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
