Student org demands dismissal of Union health, education ministers

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: All India Democratic Students Organisation on Sunday demanded the dismissal of Union Health Minister JP Nadda and Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the postponement of the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Post-Graduate exam.

The postponement comes in the backdrop of allegations of irregularities in the NEET medical entrance exams held on May 4 and the cancellation of the University Grants Commission (UGC) National Eligibility Test (NET) a day after it was held.

Aidso Karnataka State Secretary Ajay Kamath noted that it was the fourth time that the NEET-PG examination was postponed.

“Under this situation, we demand the immediate resignation of Union Health and Education ministers,” he said.

He added that there should be a “high-level impartial judicial inquiry of the entire scam regarding NEET-UG, UGCNET, CSIR-UGC-NET and NEET-PG and the culprits involved are to be punished strictly.”

“Under pressure of the movement government is trying to hide the allegations of scam only by removing the director general of NTA, but the demand of scrapping NTA (National Testing Agency) and high-level judicial inquiry is still not achieved,” Kamath said.
