Minister Reddy distributes pension orders to 106 BMTC employees under Prayaas scheme
Bengaluru, NT Bureau: Transport and Muzrai Minister Ramalinga Reddy distributed pension facility order letters to over 100 employees of Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) who have reached the age of 58 on Monday, July 1. This event was organised in collaboration with the Regional Provident Fund Office as part of the 'Prayaas' scheme.
The Prayaas Yojana facilitates the issuance of pension payment orders on the last day of an employee's 58th year. Employers and the Regional Provident Fund Office consolidate and submit necessary documents in advance, streamlining the pension process.
Speaking to the media, Minister Ramalinga Reddy said, “Under the Prayaas scheme of the Regional Provident Fund Office, more than 100 pension payment orders have been distributed to BMTC employees. The BMTC is one of the leading institutions in India and Karnataka, issuing a high number of pension orders under this scheme.”
He added the scheme, initiated on July 21, 2020, aims to simplify the pension process, reducing delays that previously lasted 2 to 3 months or up to a year due to interdepartmental transfers and missing documents.
He added, “Consolidation and advance submission of necessary documents, ensure pension payment orders are issued on the employee's last working day.''
