Hebbal-Sarjapura line to have 17 elevated, 11 underground stations

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: The upcoming Namma Metro line from Sarjapura to Hebbal will feature 17 elevated stations and 11 underground stations, according to reports which emerged late on Monday.

The Hebbal-Sarjapura ‘Red Line’ is part of Bangalore Metro Rail Cor poration Limited's (BMRCL) Phase 3A corridor. Estimated to cost around Rs 25,000 crore, the BMRCL will seek an additional fund of Rs 10,000 crore for laying the line.

The 22km stretch from Sarjapura to Koramangala will be elevated with Agara, Iblur and Koramangala 2nd block some of the proposed stations on this stretch. The underground section measuring 14.4 km will cross-cross key areas from the Central Business District like Town Hall, K R Circle and Basaveshwara Circle.

The stretch will end on an elevated section with Ganga Nagar and Hebbal being the final two stations. The Detailed Project Report (DPR) by BMRCL is awaiting approval from the government which is expected by the turn of the year.
