Hemanth Nimbalkar re-appointed as Commissioner for DIPR

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: The Karnataka government on Tuesday issued an order reappointing senior IPS officer Hemanth Nimbalkar as the Commissioner of Information and Public Relations Department (DIPR) replacing senior IAS officer Suralkar Vikas Kishor.

During the Lok Sabha elections, the BJP leaders in the state had urged the Election Commission (EC) to immediately transfer Hemanth Nimbalkar and relieve him from all election-related duties as his wife was contesting on a Congress ticket from the Uttara Kannada Lok Sabha constituency.

After this, over three months, Nimbalkar was awaiting the next orders from the state government while IAS officer Suralkar Vikas Kishor was posted as the Commissioner of Department of Information and Public Relations, Bengaluru.

The latest orders issued by T Mahanthesh, Under Secretary to Government, Department of Personnel and Administrative Refor ms (Services-1), on Tuesday transferred Kishor and posted him as Special Commissioner, Health, Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), until further orders.
