Israeli attack on Gaza Strip leaves 90 dead
Jerusalem, AP: Israel said it targeted Hamas’ shadowy military commander in a massive strike on Saturday in the crowded southern Gaza Strip that killed at least 90 people including children, according to local health officials.
Hamas immediately rejected the claim that Mohammed Deif was in the area. The Israeli army claims the target of the attack was senior Hamas military commander, Mohammed Deif; Hamas immediately rejects the claim as “false”, says “defenceless civilians” were killed in the attack.
At least 38,443 people have been killed and 88,481 wounded in Israel’s war on Gaza since October 7. The death toll in Israel from the Hamas-led attacks on Oct 7 is estimated at 1,139, and dozens of people are still held captive in Gaza.
