Mother kills son, takes her life in Yelahanka

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: In a gut wrenching incident, a mother had killed her son and later took the ultimate step to end her life at an apartment at Yelahanka, it was revealed on Sunday.

Primary observations by the Yelahanka police reveal that the mother had killed the 13 year old son by hanging him on a ceiling fan, and subsequently killing herself.

The mother, identified as Ramya, aged 40, had married Shridhar Pulivarthi from Andhra Pradesh. Pulivarthi, who’s of a different caste, died of cancer three months ago.

The couple has a 19 year old daughter who lives a Paying Guest (PG) accommodation. It is learnt that the family had found it difficult to cope with finances post Pulvarthi’s death. A death note at the spot was reportedly recovered.
