Patient commits suicide at Anekal govt hospital
Bengaluru, NT Bureau: In a tragic incident, a patient admitted to Anekal Government Hospital, located on the outskirts of Bengaluru, reportedly committed suicide by jumping from the hospital's second floor.
The deceased, identified as 46-year-old Muniyallappa from Jigani, was suffering from asthma, stomach ache, and fever. Muniyallappa was initially admitted to the hospital on June 16. After receiving treatment, he returned home but his condition seemingly worsened.
He revisited the hospital on Friday, but instead of seeking medical attention, proceeded to the second floor of the building and reportedly leapt from the second floor. His body was discovered on the floor of the hospital building. The suspicion is that his deteriorating health might have made him desperate.
The body has been sent for a post-mortem and a case has been registered at Anekal Police Station. This incident has raised concerns about patient support and mental health services within the hospital environment, highlighting the need for comprehensive care for individuals battling severe health issues.
