Writers, Ahinda, backward classes forum activists stage broom protest

Mysuru, NT Bureau: Various writers, theatre personalities, DSS activists including members of Karnataka State Backward Classes Forum and Ahinda organizations staged a broom protest outside the office of Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) on Saturday appealing to the state government to cleanse the scam tainted MUDA.

The protesters also condemned the opposition BJP and JD(S) leaders for criticizing CM Siddaramaiah over the MUDA scam and felt they were unable to tolerate his popularity in state and national politics.

They alleged that there were irregularities in site allotment in 2021 during the tenure of the previous BJP government led by B S Yediyurappa. They alleged that B Y Vijayendra, son of Yediyurappa was involved in irregularities and had colluded with then MUDA commissioner D Natesh.

Writer K S Bhagawan, Dr B P Maheshchandru Guru, Rangayana former director Janardhan, Karnataka backward classes forum president K S Shivaram and District Congress President B J Vijayakumar were present.
