Modern facilities transform govt school in B’luru

Ramanagara, NT Bureau: The government school in Lakshmipur, a rural area of Bengaluru, has seen a dramatic makeover, shedding its old, neglected appearance for a modern, private-school-like environment.

This transformation is the result of the dedicated efforts of the Global Innovator Service Organisation and the Akshaya Patra Foundation. Volunteers from these organisations have revitalised the school, introducing innovative designs and state-of-the-art learning tools.

This has reignited enthusiasm for education among the school's 240 students, including 131 boys and 110 girls. The newly upgraded facilities feature a wellequipped library, a computer lab, and an organic farming area.

A garden has also been established where students engage in sustainable living practices, supported by a rainwater harvesting. The organic farming initiatives aim to provide practical knowledge on healthy eating and environmental stewardship.
