'Kursi Bachao Budget': Rahul slams Modi govt
New Delhi/Chennai/ Kolkata, NT Bureau: Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday dubbed the Union Budget a "kursi bachao budget" and claimed it makes "hollow promises" to BJP allies at the cost of other states.
The former Congress chief also claimed that the budget was "copy and paste" job of the Congress manifesto for 2024 polls and previous budgets.
In a post on X, Gandhi said, " 'Kursi Bachao' Budget. Appease Allies: Hollow promises to them at the cost of other states. Appease Cronies: Benefits to AA with no relief for the common Indian. Copy and Paste: Congress manifesto and previous budgets."

The Tamil Nadu government and the opposition AIADMK slammed the Union Budget on Tuesday allegedly for ignoring the state and for favouring the BJP allies ruled states.
The Centre has consistently chosen to ignore the demands raised by Chief Minister M K Stalin on a numerous issues and also the requests that he had placed before the Union government, state Finance Minister Thangam Thennarasu said.
Opposition AIADMK termed the Budget as "a big disappointment" in all aspects and claimed that it was prepared "only to satisfy" the BJP allies' ruled states and not for equitable economic development of India.
Reflects political bankruptcy of Modi govt: TMC
The Trinamool Congress on Tuesday launched a scathing attack on the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre and said the Union Budget reflected the fiscal and political bankruptcy of the regime.
"You have seen how Bengal has been consistently deprived by this BJP government. Has there been a positive outcome of 12 BJP MPs elected from Bengal?," Banerjee said outside the Parliament complex.
