24-yr-old woman stabbed to death by friend at B'luru PG

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: In a shocking incident, a 24-year-old woman, Kriti Kumari from Bihar, was murdered at a paying guest accommodation in Koramangala here Tuesday night. The incident reportedly occurred between 11 pm and 11:30 pm.

Preliminary investigations suggest that Kumari’s boyfriend may be involved. Sources said that Kumari had brought her boyfriend to the PG accommodation, where he allegedly stabbed her multiple times and slit her throat before fleeing the scene.

Kumari, who was residing on the third floor of Bhargavi Staying Homes for Ladies in Venkatareddy Layout, had left the accommodation around 10 pm but returned with the suspect after 11 pm. Police have obtained CCTV footage showing the suspect allegedly entering and exiting the building.

The footage is being analysed for further clues. The PG owner revealed that Kumari had only rented the room two days earlier claiming she worked for a private firm.

The suspect had assisted her to shift and was allowed inside the premises after Kumari introduced him as her brother, according to security personnel.

Sarah Fathima, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South-East), visited the scene and formed a special team to apprehend the suspect. Forensic experts, fingerprint analysts, and a sniffer dog squad have been deployed to gather evidence.

The police are also investigating potential negligence by the PG management and will take appropriate action against the owner and security staff. Kumari’s body has been moved to the mortuary, and efforts are underway to contact her family
