
Man steals mobile phones to arrange money for consumption of cannabis
Bengaluru, NT Bureau: A thief who used to go to under-construction buildings and sheds at night and steal workers' mobile phones, has been arrested by the Whitefield police.
Abdul Razak (22) from Bihar is the arrested accused. 32 mobile phones worth Rs 4.5 lakh were seized from him. He lives in Kadugodi after coming to Bengaluru two years ago.
His father has been living in the city for many years while working as a daily wage earner. The accused, who was addicted to ganja, stole mobile phones for easy money.
Police said he sold the stolen mobile phones at a low price and used the money to buy ganja. Recently, he stole a mobile phone from a car wash shop or Vijayanagar Main Road in the Whitefield Police Station limits.
Based on the complaint received in this regard, the police registered a case and started investigation and arrested the accused.
