BBMP chief flags off truck with relief material to Wayanad

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: In a show of generosity, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Employees and Officer Welfare Association collected relief material for those affected by the landslide in Wayanad, Kerala on Friday.

Essential commodities, including food and groceries, have been dispatched to help those in need following the devastating tragedy. Chief Commissioner of BBMP Tushar Girinath, flagged off two goods trucks loaded with supplies destined for the disaster-stricken region.

‘This shows the association’s intent to help those in distress after a disaster wiped off their livelihoods, said Girinath.The chief commissioner spearheaded the drive, with the association, which played a big role in coordinating with those affected, while demonstrating solidarity with the people of Wayanad.

The BBMP has also committed financial assistance amounting to Rs 5 lakh. This monetary aid is intended to support the victims' immediate needs and help with their recovery process. Around 30 civic officers have travelled along to help with the relief mission.
