M11 Industries inaugurates state’s largest biodiesel plant

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: M11 Industries Pvt Ltd “proudly” inaugurated Karnataka’s largest integrated biodiesel plant on Monday here, with Chief Guest UT Khader, Speaker of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly, in attendance.

The state-ofthe-art facility, built under the "Make in India" initiative, involves a Rs 350 crore investment and employs advanced technology from Desmet Ballestra. M11 Industries, a subsidiary of MK Agrotech, aims to reduce emissions by converting used cooking oil and waste oils into biodiesel.

Director Hannan Khan highlighted the plant’s capacity to produce 450 tonnes of biodiesel daily, addressing the 5 per cent blending mandate and reducing import dependency.

UT Khader lauded the eco-friendly initiative for its positive impact on the environment, local employment a nd economic development.

Distinguished guests at the event, including Yenepoya Abdulla Kunhi, Dr Ujjwala of Nitte Engineering College and Srinath Shetty of Desmet Ballestra, expressed their support and optimism for the plant’s future contributions to sustainable energy.
