Police opens fire at rowdy sheeter, nabs him near Halagur in Malavalli taluk

Mysuru, NT Bureau: A rowdy sheeter was injured after he was fired at by police in Chikkamulagudu village of Malavalli taluk Sunday morning. According to police, Muthuraju alias Dakka (28) is the injured rowdy sheeter.

He is a native of Balehonniga village near Halagur in Malavalli taluk o f Mandya district. He is currently undergoing treatment at MIMS, Mandya.

He was an accused involved in the brutal murder of Kantharaju which occurred in Deverimmanahalli gate near Halagura few days ago and is wanted by the police in more than 11 murder and other cases which were reported in Halagur, Kirugavalu, Harohalli and Mandya East Police Stations, Police had launched a manhunt for Mutturaju as he was evading arrest.

A team of police led by Halagur CPI B S Sridhar was constituted by the police department to nab him. On a tip off on his arrival, Halagur Police led by CPI B S Sridhar , police constable Siddaraju along with others caught him on his bike on a road between Haniyambadi- Chikkamulaguda village near Halagur on Sunday morning.

Mutturaj attacked police constable Siddaraju with a sharp weapon and then, CPI B S Sridhar shot at him on his right leg and arrested him. Halagur Police have registered a case and an investigation is underway
