Man arrested for molesting nursing student

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: A 28-year-old man was arrested by the Soladevanahalli police for allegedly molesting a nursing student who was walking on a footpath in the evening of July 30.

The incident, which has caused significant concern in the local community, underscores the ongoing challenges of ensuring safety for women in public spaces.

The accused, identified as Basavaraj, is a resident of Maruthi Nagar in Chikkabanavara and original ly hails from Kalaburagi. He works at a medical store in Nelamangala, according to a source.

The victim, a 21-year-old nursing student from West Bengal, is in her fourth semester of a BSc Nursing programme. The incident took place around 9 pm when the student was walking alone on a footpath, according to the police.
