Bengaluru: Several BJP Yuva Morcha activists were arrested by police on Tuesday when they tried to stage a dharna outside the home of Bengaluru Rural MP D.K. Suresh for his alleged misbehavior with Higher Education Minister Dr.C.S. Ashwath Narayana at a public function in Ramanagar on Monday. Their efforts were thwarted by police near Bashyam Circle.
On Monday evening, as a precaution, police put up the metal barricades outside Suresh’s house and posted a large posse of officers to prevent the BJP workers from staging a protest. The scrap triggered protests by Congress workers in Ramanagara, where they tore BJP posters and staged a ‘rasta roko’. To counter this, the BJP Yuva Morcha tried to lay siege to the MP’s house, only to find themselves impeded by the police.
The protest was led by BJP Yuva Morcha Bengaluru Central District President Abhilash Reddy, P.G.Prashanth, Puneet Reddy and Dasharath Vailaya.
