Three Bengaluru head constables suspended

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: A shocking incident has come to light involving three head constables from Bengaluru, who were caught participating in a ganja and alcohol party held at a villa on the outskirts of the city.

The constables, who were attending a businessman's birthday celebration, were exposed during a raid conducted by the Chikkajala police station.

The constables involved in the misconduct have been identified as Anandkumar, the head constable at the Seshadripuram sub-division's ACP office, Manjunath, a head constable from the Jeevanbimanagar police station, and Anantaraju, a constable from the Upparapet police station.

The raid uncovered their participation in the illicit activities, leading to immediate disciplinary action. City Police Commissioner B Dayananda addressed the media confirming the suspension of the three constables.

He emphasized that their suspension was based on charges of dereliction of duty and misconduct. Commissioner Dayananda further stated that a departmental inquiry has been initiated to thoroughly investigate the matter.

The incident has raised concerns within the police department, highlighting the need for strict adherence to professional conduct and discipline.

The involvement of law enforcement officers in such activities not only tarnishes the reputation of the police force but also undermines public trust in those tasked with upholding the law. As the departmental inquiry progresses, it is expected that further details will emerge.
