Man commits suicide after killing wife
Bengaluru, NT Bureau: In a gory sequence of events in Hulimavu, a 46-year-old man was found hanging from a tree after allegedly murdering his wife the previous day.
The victim, 35-year-old Meena, was discovered lying in a pool of blood by her son at their residence. Meena, who worked as a housekeeper was married to Mahesh Kumar, a crane operator for a prominent builder in the city.
The couple, who had no children together, had reportedly been living together for several years. Shortly after the discovery of Meena's body, Mahesh Kumar was reported missing, and investigators quickly identified him as the prime suspect.
Suspicion grew when it was revealed that Kumar had left his phone behind and locked the house from the outside before disappearing. The case took a turn later that evening when passersby discovered Kumar’s lifeless body hanging from a tree and immediately alerted the police.
Originally from Maharashtra, Kumar had relocated to Bengaluru nearly two decades ago, severing ties with his family. According to police reports, Kumar harboured suspicions about Meena's involvement in an extramarital affair, an accusation she had allegedly admitted to, but refused to end.
This revelation profoundly disturbed Kumar, who had previously confided in his son about his thoughts of harming Meena but ultimately decided against it, fearing the impact on his son's future.
