Vatal protests Guv's decision to allow Siddu's prosecution
Bengaluru, NT Bureau: Without a panel discussion or an emergency meeting, the Governor of Karnataka does not have the right to make a sudden decision to grant permission for CM Siddaramaiah's prosecution in the MUDA scam, said Kannada protagonist Vatal Nagaraj while protesting at Kempegowda bus stand on Sunday.
Vatal Nagaraj questioned how the Governor could grant permission to prosecute the Chief Minister without first providing notice.
He alleged that the Governor's decision was influenced by the central and state BJP, accusing him of being involved in politics and acting unethically against the CM.
He claimed that this was part of a hate campaign against the CM, stating that if corruption were truly the issue, many individuals across all parties would be prosecuted.
Nagaraj also questioned the credibility of the complainant and criticised the Governor for allowing the prosecution without proper scrutiny.
He further remarked that other state governors are more impartial, and while the opposition might believe Siddaramaiah will resign, Nagaraj insisted that he should not step down, even if the prosecution proceeds. He warned that it is necessary to fight fiercely to "save the Raj Bhavan".
