Student faces multiple charges amid sexual assault investigation

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: In a significant development in the sexual assault case involving a graduate student from Nagaland, City traffic police have now booked the victim for driving under the influence of alcohol and causing a series of accidents.

The FIR was filed at the Adugodi traffic police station following a complaint lodged against the student, police sources revealed on Tuesday.

The incident unfolded on the night of August 17 when the victim, a final-year BCA graduate, was reportedly driving in an intoxicated state after attending a party at a pub in Koramangala. According to the police, her impaired driving led to collisions of two autorickshaws and a motorcycle near Mangala Junction.

Despite the accidents, the student allegedly continued driving without stopping. Enraged by the damage to their vehicles, the auto drivers pursued the student's car and eventually managed to stop her. A heated argument ensued between the student and the auto drivers.

When a police patrol vehicle arrived at the scene, the student's male friend intervened and sent her away on a motorcycle to avoid further complications.

However, the situation took a darker turn when the student boarded another two-wheeler driven by 24-year-old Mukheshwaran, aka Mukesh, a resident of Adugodi. Mukesh took the victim to an isolated location and sexually assaulted her.

The victim, who resisted the assault, left scratches on the accused's face. In a state of shock, she managed to send an emergency message to her friend, who, along with others, tracked her location and found her naked behind a truck, the police said.
