Restaurants and eateries to come under food dept’s scanner

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: In a decisive move to ensure food safety across the state, officials from the Food Safety and Standards Authority (FSSAI) are gearing up for a comprehensive statewide inspection on Friday and Saturday.

This comes after the surprise inspection of eateries in Vijayanagar in Bengaluru. As part of the drive announced by State Health minister Dinesh Gundu Rao, restaurants and eateries will come under the scanner for the quality of food.

The operation aims to address concerns about food safety. Officials will collect samples of meat, fish, and eggs and check if they meet standards.
