DCM to BBMP: 15 days is all you get to repair potholes
Bengaluru, NT Bureau: Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar has instructed BBMP Chief Commissioner Tushar Girinath that all potholes on roads under the jurisdiction of Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), must be repaired within 15 days.
Shivakumar issued these instructions on Sunday. There have been numerous complaints about gaping potholes which are causing traffic bottlnecks.
The public has the option of taking photos of potholes and uploading them on an app called 'Road Pothole Attention.'
Complaints regarding damaged roads have been received from various parts of the city. The rainy season may also be contributing to the formation of potholes. After the 15-day deadline, Shivakumar plans to personally inspect every road in the city to ensure that all potholes have been repaired.
He said in a statement that the BBMP Chief Commissioner has been informed that the work must be completed by then.
