Robbery bid foiled during Ganesh festival, investigations on

A bold attempt to rob a jewellery shop on Ganesh festival was thwarted by swift police action. The incident occurred around 2 pm on Saturday at Sankeshwar Jewellers and Dharmesh Jewellers on Avenue Road. The robbers, numbering between six to seven and wearing masks, had cut the CCTV cables of nearby shops to avoid detection.

They also attempted to break the shop’s shutter. The sophisticated approach of disabling surveillance equipment suggested a planned operation. However, their efforts were disrupted when the watchman, alerted by the sound of the lock being broken, immediately contacted the police.

The watchman’s quick response triggered a rapid police intervention. Officers arrived on the scene with sirens blaring, making the robbers flee before they could complete the theft.
