Simha: Govt move to form C'deshwari body welcome

Former member of parliament Pratap Simha on Wednesday welcomed the state government decision to constitute Chamundeshwari Srikshetra Development Authority. His statement gains significance amid a tug of war between the Mysore royal family and the state government over the authority.

Speaking to reporters here, he said as there is a public demand to constitute the authority, even the previous BJP government had planned such an body for overall development on the lines of Malemahadeshwara Hills Development Authority for Hanur taluk of Chamarajanagar.

However, it did not happen during the BJP government's tenure. Now CM Siddaramaiah has constituted the authority keeping in mind the overall development of Chamundi Hills, he said.
