1,376 potholes filled in B'luru, Rs 15 lakh per ward for road repair: CM

NT Correspondent Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah undertook rounds of Bengaluru inspecting various development works and filling of potholes in the city. The CM claimed that 1,376 potholes had been filled in the city recently, adding that authorities were being alerted about more potholes on the monitoring app. He added that Rs 15 lakh would be released for every ward, specifically road repair works. “As many as 1,376 potholes have been filled so far.

The monitoring app has flagged 2,684 more potholes and action is being taken on the same. To repair the roads and fill the potholes at the ward level, Rs 15 lakh will be released to each ward. The road repair works will continue,” Siddaramaiah said.

Deputy Chief Minister and Bengaluru Development Minister DK Shivakumar had warned Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) authorities and engineers that if they fail to fill the potholes they’re responsible for, they’d be suspended. Shivakumar is touring the US right now and will return to India on September 15.
