Vijayendra accused of obtaining benami Muda site

NT Correspondent Mysuru: Questioning the moral right of BJP chief BY Vijayendra to make allegations against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in the Muda case, activist KS Shivaramu on Monday claimed that Vijayendra himself had obtained a Mysuru Urban Development Authority (Muda) site in a benami name. Speaking to reporters at a press conference here, Shivaramu alleged that the site was registered in the name of his follower LR Mahadevaswamy's wife, Sowmy Mahadevaswamy. According to him, a 50 X80 site was allotted to Sowmya in the posh Saraswathipuram area with Mahadevasamy, who is currently the district BJP president reportedly constructing a new house in the 'benami property' of Vijayendra.

The then Muda commissioner DB Natesh, who is reportedly close to Vijayendra, had allotted the benami site to Sowmya Swamy, after receiving Rs 5.50 lakh, but the site is worth Rs seven crores in the market, Shivaramu claimed. He wanted the government to probe the benami properties of Vijayendra and the irregularities committed by previous Muda commissioner Natesh.
