BFC's Zaragoza calls on players to focus for match against Hyd FC
NT Correspondent, Bengaluru: As Bengaluru FC prepares for matchweek two of the Indian Super League (ISL) following a victory over East Bengal FC, Head Coach Gerard Zaragoza has emphasized the need for his players to stay focused as they face Hyderabad FC at Kanteerava Stadium on Thursday. The 2022 champions, Hyderabad, who finished at the bottom of the table last season, are eager to secure a win under new Head Coach Thangboi Singto. “The aim is to identify areas for improvement from our game against East Bengal and perform better.
Last season, our match against Hyderabad FC was challenging, and we want to avoid a repeat of that on Thursday. We need to control the game and dominate. The last 20 minutes of every ISL match this season have been tough for teams, and that's something we want to steer clear of,” Zaragoza said at a press conference ahead of the fixture. Bengaluru FC kicked off their league campaign with a 1-0 win at Kanteerava Stadium on Saturday, thanks to a first-half strike from local talent Vinith Venkatesh. Bengaluru is currently the only team with three points after Match Week 1. “Kanteerava has been a fortress for us, and we’re relying on that. Our goal is to improve and ensure we are doing everything we can."
