BCIC summit focuses on innovation, sustainability
NT Correspondent Bengaluru: The Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce (BCIC) held its annual Leadership Summit, bringing together industry leaders, experts, and speakers to discuss the evolving business landscape. The summit addressed themes such as sustainable leadership, the role of introverted professionals and the future of India's pharmaceutical and biotech sectors. In his keynote speech, Vineet Verma, President of BCIC, emphasised the need for innovation and sustainability in leadership.
He highlighted how the summit focused on fostering human-centric leadership and its role in driving business forward. Peter Bains, Group CEO of Biocon Limited, shared India’s potential to remain the ‘Pharmacy of the World’ and evolve into a global ‘Laboratory of the World.’ With a projected biotech market value of USD 2.4 trillion by 2028, Bains stressed the importance of innovation and government support in propelling India’s biopharmaceutical growth Dr Sanjeev Kumar Gupta, CEO of the Karnataka Digital Economy Mission, urged the BCIC to take the lead in designing a research and development (R&D) framework for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
