Traffic constable returns lost laptop to IT professional, restores faith in police
NT Correspondent Bengaluru: Shashidhar Gowda, a senior IT professional and resident of Gayathri Nagar, faced an unexpected ordeal while returning home from HSR Layout. After a long day as the Head of Programme Management at Acceldata, Gowda fell asleep in an auto-rickshaw and later realized that his laptop bag, containing vital work materials, personal belongings, and medical reports, had fallen off during the journey.
After retracing his route with the auto driver in vain, Gowda filed an e-lost complaint in preparation for an insurance report. A surprising turn of events occurred at 10 pm when Arun Kumar, a 29-year-old traffic constable from Hassan, arrived at Gowda’s doorstep with the missing bag. Kumar had found it while managing traffic near Krishna Mills and, recognizing its importance, traced it back to Gowda using the documents inside.
Shashidhar expressed immense gratitude, calling the constable’s act a miracle that restored his faith in the police. Arun Kumar, empathizing due to his father’s medical condition, acted swiftly without expecting any reward. The officer’s selfless gesture not only saved Gowda from potential setbacks but also highlighted the dedication still present within the police force.
