Heavy rainfall causes flooding in city

NT Correspondent Bengaluru: Bengaluru faced heavy rainfall on Saturday night, leading to extensive flooding across the city and affecting traffic. Main roads in Channasandra near Whitefield are waterlogged, significantly disrupting vehicular movement. While Speaking with News Trail, BBMP South Zone officials reported that one tree had fallen near Koramangala, which has since been cleared. Many streets remain filled with water. Officials from the Bommanahalli and Mahadevapura zones mentioned tree falls in HSR Layout (1st Sector) and Battarahalli (53rd Ward), respectively.

Additionally, there was waterlogging in the 85th Ward of Mahadevepura at Doddanekundi. Other zones reported that they had not yet received any complaints; had they, they would have provided updates. In Marathahalli, Vice Garden Road is severely waterlogged, with vehicles nearly submerged, complicating navigation for two-wheelers.

In Abbayya Reddy Layout, rainwater has entered local homes and apartments, forcing residents to work on drainage efforts. Locals expressed concern over the condition of the roads, which are filled with potholes, and have urged the BBMP to take action.
