2 fans of Kannada actor Darshan attempt to kill man over dispute

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: A man was assaulted and his throat slit by two fans of actor Darshan after a disagreement in Sulikere Palya in Bengaluru South. The victim, Venkataswamy, is recovering from the attack and is out of danger. In a violent incident at a construction site in Sulikere Palya, the laborers, Kiran and Mahadeva from Aijur in Ramanagara, allegedly attempted to kill their coworker, Venkataswamy, after a row over the actor.

The accused were reportedly shouting 'D Boss, D Boss' around 8 pm on May 26, referring to Darshan’s popular moniker, when Venkataswamy advised them to lower their voices citing the nearby houses. Offended by his remarks, the accused reportedly attacked Venkataswamy. Kiran allegedly slit Venkataswamy’s throat with a knife, while Mahadeva physically assaulted him. Venkataswamy sustained severe injuries but was rushed to a private hospital in time and is now stable.
