Fake delivery agent flees after being caught in iPhone 15 delivery scam

NT Correspondent Bengaluru: A recent incident involving a fake delivery agent has raised concerns over the security of online deliveries. The scam took place when a resident was pressured to accept a large package without verifying its contents. The imposter, dressed in a white t-shirt, attempted to coerce the resident into receiving the suspicious package. Growing wary of the man’s behavior, the resident began recording the interaction on their phone.

Realising that he was being filmed, the fake delivery agent quickly fled the scene before the transaction could be completed. Just minutes later, the legitimate Flipkart delivery agent arrived at the residence with the correct iPhone 15 order. The proper open-box procedure was then followed, ensuring the authenticity of the delivery. The incident, which quickly gained traction on Reddit with hundreds of views, has left users questioning the trustworthiness of online marketplaces.

Several commenters speculated that the original delivery agent could be involved in the scam, urging the resident to report the incident to Flipkart, along with the video evidence. The case has also ignited a broader discussion on the safety of e-commerce deliveries, with many sharing similar stories of frauds.
