Bengaluru tops Traffic Quality Index as India’s most congested city

NT Correspondent Bengaluru: Bengaluru's notorious traffic has once again drawn negative attention, solidifying its reputation as India's most congested city according to the latest TQI, with Mumbai trailing in second place. The TQI provides a comprehensive evaluation of traffic conditions, revealing that Bengaluru received an alarmingly high score in the "extreme congestion" category, which ranges from 800 to 1,000. The report indicated that Mumbai follows with a score of 787, while Delhi and Hyderabad rank third and fourth, with scores of 747 and 718, respectively. As of Oct 4, Bengaluru faced significant traffic congestion, with average travel times per 10 km clocking in at 36 minutes.
