Yellow Line expected will be operational by January: BMRCL
NT Correspondent Bengaluru: In yet another relief for commuters, the Yellow line of Namma Metro connecting R V Road and Bommasandra via Electronic City is expected to be open by January next year, the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) announced on Saturday. The 18 kilometre stretch connects key IT hubs like Infosys in Electronic city and Delta near Hebbagodi. The civil works for the station are fully done.
The line, which is undergoing full inspection, will open next year with three train sets running at a 30-minute frequency. The section will also undergo an inspection by the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) by December this year. To increase its rolling stock, the BMRCL expects two-six coach train sets, from March from Kolkata based Titagarh Rail Systems Limited (TRSL), after delays. The prototype, from China, is currently undergoing tests. All the 15 train sets for this line are expected to arrive by August 2025, the BMRCL further said.
