Illegal activities in RR Nagar; BBMP acts
NT Correspondent Bengaluru: An illegal borewell rig drilling on a road at Herohalli ward of Rajarajeshwari Nagar Zone of the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) was reported to the Police, on Monday. In an FIR filed by the Ward Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) Ramesh, it is alleged that the borewell drilling took place right in the middle of the road near Om Sai Public School for two days from October 3.
Cops from the Byadarahalli Police station took cognizance of the issue and took up a case against three accused; Jayaraj, Dhananjaiah and Prakash under the Prevention of Destruction and Loss of Property Act, 1981 and under sections 285 (Obstruction of public ways), 324 (Causing Mischief), and 326 (Property damage) of the Bhartiya Nyay Samhita (BNS), 2023. In the same zone, an eight feet deep earth work excavation took place without obtaining a map approval, and causing damage to the footpaths and sewerage lines adjacent to it.
The land in question is located opposite the petrol bunk in Ideal Homes Township at RR Nagar. According to the FIR filed by RR Nagar AEE Varanarayana K, it is alleged that around 70 feet of footpath, and sewerage line is damaged due to the illegal excavation, allegedly done by Manjegowda. A BMTC bus stop located there is allegedly about to fall off, and that may cost authorities Rs. 20 lakh.
