Bar cashier assaulted over Rs 20 dispute

NT Correspondent Bengaluru: In a disturbing incident that unfolded at a bar in Narasipura, a cashier was brutally assaulted with a beer bottle after demanding an additional Rs 20 for a purchase. The incident occurred under the jurisdiction of Vidyaranyapura police station.The victim, identified as Ranjith, works as a cashier at Jayashree Bar in Narasipur. The altercation began when Ranjith asked for Rs 150 for a liquor bottle that was originally priced at Rs 130. This minor disagreement escalated rapidly when three individuals, identified as Chetan, Karthik and an unnamed accomplice, reacted angrily to the cashier's request. In a sudden outburst of aggression, the trio attacked him, using a soda bottle and a beer bottle. During the attack, a shard of glass from the beer bottle struck Ranjith on the cheek, causing a serious injury. Currently, Ranjith is receiving treatment at a local hospital for his injuries. The Vidyaranyapura Police have registered a case in connection with the assault and promptly arrested Chetan and Karthik.
