No deadline to get eKhata: Revenue Min
NT Correspondent Bengaluru: After the draft eKhata was made available to residents of Bengaluru, Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda assured that there is no deadline to obtain an eKhata. Khatas are important in streamlining property tax for Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP). The digitization of property records is happening as per Deputy Chief Minister’s D K Shivakumar’s directions issued last year. So far, 21 lakh registered property records have fully been digitized, and are available to download on BBMPeAasthi.karnataka.gov.in. To obtain a final eKhata, documents need to be uploaded. Those not possessing documents can approach their nearest Assistant Revenue Officer (ARO) However, reports have emerged of citizens finding themselves in a lot of confusion, as they are not able to raise objections to their records besides facing problems of adding Latitudinal and Longitudinal coordinates to the records.
