A young girl was attacked by stray dogs on the Air Force campus in Jalahalli, Bengaluru, on September 28. The incident, captured on CCTV, shows the girl being dragged by the dogs. It came to light on Sunday, raising concerns about the increasing stray dog problem in the area.

Last month, an elderly woman died in a similar incident nearby. Witnesses noted that the dogs initially attacked individually but later coordinated in groups. Many residents expressed frustration with the perceived inaction from the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP).
Despite BBMP’s assurances and initiatives to manage stray dog populations, community members feel the efforts have not addressed the ongoing issue. CCTV footage highlights the dangers these animals pose, and residents are dissatisfied with the corporation’s response.
The girl was bitten on the leg and dragged around ten meters before a nearby resident intervened. This incident has prompted questions about BBMP’s strategies for handling the stray dog issue.

In response to rising attacks, the BBMP has proposed a plan to feed stray dogs to prevent aggressive behavior. However, many residents are skeptical about this approach and whether it will effectively reduce risks to the community.
Following the attack that resulted in the woman’s death on August 28, BBMP officials visited the area but could not find the responsible dog. Although over 100 dogs have been captured and relocated rom Jalahalli.
