Wild jumbo attacks forest dept jeep, three hurt

Bengaluru: A team of 3-4 forest department personnel had a traumatic time when a wild tusker attacked the jeep in which they were patrolling the forests at Shivakumarapura village in Omkar Range of Bandipur National Park on Friday. They sustained minor injuries in the incident.

According to information reaching here, the forest department team arrived in the village to drive back the jumbo that had strayed into an agricultural field. On seeing the department personnel, the tusker attacked the jeep and toppled it forcing the staff inside to flee the scene to save their lives. The jumbo is learnt to have returned to the forest.
