
BMRCL bags awards for best multimodal integration
NT Correspondent Bengaluru: Citing its work on connecting multiple transport hubs in Bengaluru via metro, the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) bagged the award for Best Metro rail with multimodal integration at the Urban Mobility India Conference cum expo here on Sunday. The BMRCL has a 73.81 kilometre network and two operational lines to show for. The Green and the Purple line cut through the East -West extremes and the North-South extremes of the city. About 20 kilometres of metro rail network is awaiting inauguration and around 100 kilometres are under construction.
Stations in the Green Line connect the Banashankari Bus terminus of the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC), the Kempegowda Bus Station(KBS), and Yeshwantpur Bus terminus and Railway station. Stations in the Purple Line connect Kengeri Bus Terminal, Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna railway station in Majestic, the KBS, and Baiyappanahalli, Krishnarajapuram and Whitefield Railway stations.
